Weather Command

The weather system allows the streamer to set a city for weather display, and viewers to get up-to-date weather information using a simple command.

Activating the Weather Feature​

Before using weather commands, you need to activate these commands in the command list.

Available Commands​

!weather​

Shows the current weather in the channel's city. If you pass a city in the command, the bot shows the weather there instead.

The channel's city is set with !setweather or in Channel settings, the Default city field.

The result for a city is cached for 10 minutes, so the data in chat updates at most once every 10 minutes. This is not a command cooldown.

Example usage:

!weather
!weather London

!setweather [city]​

This command sets the city for weather display. Only the streamer and moderators can use this command.

Example usage:

!setweather Moscow
!setweather London
!setweather New York

After setting the city, all chat participants will be able to use the !weather command to get information about the current weather in the specified city.

How It Works​

  1. The streamer or moderator sets the city with !setweather [city] or in the channel settings
  2. The bot saves the city in the channel settings
  3. When someone in the chat uses the !weather command, the bot requests weather data for that city (or the city from the command) and displays it in the chat
  4. The result is cached for 10 minutes

Displayed Information​

When using the !weather command, the bot shows:

  • Current temperature
  • Weather conditions (clear, cloudy, rain, etc.)
  • Wind speed
  • Air humidity
