Telegram Notification Bot

The Telegram bot @JeetMentionsBot allows you to receive notifications in Telegram when someone mentions your Twitch username in chat.

What the Bot Does​

The bot tracks mentions of your username in Twitch chats where JeetBot is active and sends you real-time notifications in Telegram.

How to Connect​

Step 1: Go to the Bot's Channel​

Open https://twitch.tv/jeetbot in your browser.

Step 2: Get an Authorization Code​

In the channel chat, send the command:

!jauth

The bot will generate a unique authorization code that is valid for 24 hours.

Step 3: Connect the Telegram Bot​

  1. Go to @JeetMentionsBot in Telegram
  2. Press /start to begin using the bot
  3. Follow the bot's instructions to enter the authorization code you received

Step 4: Confirmation​

The bot will notify you when your Twitch account has been successfully linked to Telegram. Once connected, you can use the /menu command to view the status of your linked account and manage settings.

How It Works​

  1. Tracking: The bot continuously monitors Twitch chats where JeetBot is active
  2. Filtering: When someone mentions your username in chat, the bot detects it
  3. Notification: The bot sends you an instant notification in Telegram
  4. Context: The notification includes the channel where the mention occurred and the message text
  5. Management: Use the /menu command to view the status of your linked account and manage settings

Important Details​

Code Validity Period

The authorization code is valid for only 24 hours. If the code has expired, get a new one using the !jauth command on the bot's channel.

Instant Notifications

Notifications arrive in real time as soon as someone mentions your username in chat.

Limitations
  • The bot only works in chats where JeetBot is active
  • Notifications are sent only for mentions of your exact username
  • Username matching is case-insensitive

Available Commands​

/start​

Links your Twitch account to receive mention notifications. Use this command for the initial setup or to link a different account.

/lang​

Allows you to change the bot's language. The bot supports multiple languages for user convenience.

Opens the settings menu where you can:

  • View information about the linked account
  • Enable/disable notifications
  • Manage bot settings

/help​

Shows help with descriptions of all available commands and how the bot works.

Managing Notifications​

Via the Settings Menu​

Use the /menu command to access a convenient settings interface where you can:

  • View the status of the linked account
  • Enable or disable notifications
  • Link a different account

Via Commands​

  • /start - to relink an account
  • /menu - to access settings

Troubleshooting​

Bot Not Responding​

  • Make sure you entered the authorization code correctly
  • Check that the code has not expired (valid for 24 hours)
  • Get a new code using the !jauth command on the bot's channel

Not Receiving Notifications​

  • Use the /menu command to check notification status
  • Make sure notifications are enabled in settings
  • Verify that JeetBot is active in the chat
  • Ensure your username is correctly set in the settings

Authorization Issues​

  • Make sure you are using the correct code
  • Check that the code has not expired
  • Try getting a new code and repeating the process

Security​

  • The authorization code is unique and tied to your account
  • No one else can use your code
  • The bot does not store personal data, only connection information
  • You can disable notifications at any time

Support​
